Selkirk S2 Amped Lightweight Review
I recently had the opportunity to demo the new SELKIRK S2 AMPED lightweight paddle. I love everything about this paddle. It has become my favorite to date. The moment I held the paddle in my hand, it instantly had the right size and feel, the shortened length on the grip was noticeable and the weight of the paddle seemed perfect. I was anxious to play with it.
I started with an hour of drilling, then three hours of playing. Instantly with my routine of drills and practice I noticed that there is quite a distinction of the robust large sweetspot. Basically the entire face of this paddle is “the sweet spot”. The fiber flex composition certainly contributed to more precision of ball placement with soft or power shots, yet produced plenty of power for “put away” and “winner” shots.
Usually you have to compromise a bit of control in order to produce the level of power that is desired. There is plenty of power for baseline shots and volleys as well as the “right touch” performing dink and drop shots. I also can attest to the paddle adding a bit more spin to the ball with the desired topspin or backspin shots.
The SELKIRK S2 AMPED lightweight is a winner and my paddle of choice. The features of this paddle can benefit lower level players and enhance the ability of players with advanced skill level. I am a tournament 4.0 player that plays mixed doubles and women’s doubles and this paddle performs extremely well in both types of events. It delivers all you could ask for in a pickleball paddle. I am looking forward to my first tournament using the SELKIRK S2 AMPED lightweight paddle. This paddle gets a rating of 5 stars and I will recommend this paddle to players of all levels.
